The story
A district with centuries of character.
Willemstad was founded in 1634, and Pietermaai—named after Mayor Pieter de Meij—grew into one of the city’s most memorable neighborhoods. After a nineteenth-century era of entertainment and culture, the district entered a remarkable renaissance. Pietermaai Boutique Hotel has helped shape that revival since 2018.
